About Us
Journey2Med exists to reduce barriers for disadvantaged young people in London by providing support and resources to increase access to medical school.
Why widening participation matters
The aim of widening participation is to ensure that all those who have the ability to attend medical school have the opportunity to do so.
With an increasingly diverse general population, it is vital that the medical workforce is representative of the patients served. Widening participation helps young people from disadvantaged backgrounds realise their ambitions and achieve their full potential.

Our Founders
Meet Lydie and Hazal
We are Lydie and Hazal, two UK-based medical students, educational content creators and co-founders of Journey2Med.
The additional struggles we faced as two aspiring medics who predominantly attended state schools, from low socioeconomic backgrounds and soon to be the first doctors in our families was a driving passion to help other students of similar backgrounds get into medicine with an easier journey!
